The best place to celebrate lohri is in Punjab. The main theme of lohri is BONFIRE. The bonfire ceremony differs from place to place in Punjab, in various places of Punjab the celebration of lohri is celebrated in the past 5-10 days by the young teenagers, they move around the places to gather the logs (wood) for the bonfire. And some of the families will be giving the sweet to the teenagers. The collection gathered by the teenagers are distributed in the night during the bonfire.

As I said the bonfire ceremony differs from place to place in Punjab, in some places of Punjab the bonfire is made with gobar (cattle dung) and then it is fired from beneath. And in some places, it is been celebrated with logs (wood) which has been collected by the teenagers. The sweet items collected by the teenagers are being distributed, peanuts and some other food items are thrown in fire. Throwing the food and peanuts in the fire represents the burning the old year and starting the new year.
