Republic Day in 2020

26 January 2020 i.e. on Sunday.

·     India will be celebrating its 71st Republic day i.e. on 26th January. In India this festival is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm across the country.

·     People celebrate the Republic day on this day, as the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950.

Importance of Republic day 

After gaining Independence from British Rule. The new constitution was created by the Dr.BR Ambedkar. The Indian Constitution came in to force by 26th January 1950. The date 26th January is chosen for the Republic day because on this day in 1929 Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) was proclaimed. 

Republic Day Celebrations:

 1. The main Republic Day celebration is held in the national capital that is New Delhi. Several Parades takes place in the Delhi at Rajpath.

2. The Nation’s very school celebrates the Republic day with a children’s and with a lot of       enthusiasm. And after the celebration the school provides sweets and fruits to the children.

3.  Awards ceremony is being held in the school and college to honour the best performer of the       school or college.

4. On this the President of India Distributes the Padma Awards for the civilians of India every year.
