History of Guru Gobind Singh ji

Guru Gobind Singh ji was the 10th guru of Sikh Nanak. Guru Gobind Singh ji was born in Patna, Bihar, India. The Jayanti of Guru Gobind Singh ji depends on Nanakshahi calendar.


Guru Gobind Singh ji’s father was Guru Tegh Bahadur and his mother was Mata Gujri. He was born at Harmandir saheb neighborhood in Patna, which is known as Gurudwara. When his father was killed by Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam. after the death of his father he was installed has a tenth Guru on the day of Vaisakhi.

Even after becoming the tenth guru he showed interest in education, and learnt the skills like martial arts, archery.


Guru Gobind Singh ji founded the Khalsa at Anandpur, by asking all the Sikh’s to gather at Anandpur and asking to be the volunteer someone who are willing to sacrifice their head, Five men agreed to the be the volunteer and then Gobind Singh ji named them as the Khalsa.

How do they Celebrate Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti?

  1. Long processions will be there on the road on the Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti day.
  2.  People share sweets, foods, and cold drinks for the people who are there in the procession.
  3.   Special prayers will be conducted in the Gurudwara’s.
  4.   Unique dishes will be prepared in the home
  5.   Unique dishes will be prepared at the gurudwara’s and been served.
